Silver How and Loughrigg Fell : Lake District Walk

So my weekend walk today is 6 miles hike from Waithwaite Bottom, walking through Huntingstile Gap towards Silver How which is 1296 ft, then from Silver How to Loughrigg Fell which is 1099 ft. If you want to take the same route, you can use the map below. I parked in a layby near the junction but there are pay and display car parks as well.

Silver How to Loughrigg

The start of the walk was hard to judge the weather because it was cold in the morning and I layered up, but it soon got warm, so I had to do a bit of a striptease and remove some clothing! The first part of the walk was greats as there are many terrific views and great locations for photography, and the walk wasn't too bad. There are some steep walks in places, but most of it is ok. I wouldn't try walking up these fells after a heavy rain downpour as the path would be too slippery.

My advice if you are going to try and do this route, take plenty of food and water and travel light as you will need a lot of stamina and strength to power yourself up the hills.

I hope you enjoy the walk and let me know how you got on!

Silver How, longer but less of a gradient in places

Loughrigg Fell, shorter but steeper gradient.
